Locals agree not much can top St. Augustine’s annual October celebrations. With tons of fright-themed events each year, families of all ages can channel their spooky sides.
From fall festivals to pumpkin patches, mazes and haunted forests, St Augustine is a dream destination for Halloween enthusiasts.
Ready to get your scare on? You don’t want to miss these four exciting Halloween events in and around St. Augustine this year:
This multi-weekend event offers one of the best values of the season. One price grants you access to a haunted house, bounce houses, story time, the Forbidden Forest trail ride, live music, and more.
You can join the fun at the Florida Agricultural Museum in Palm Coast on October 19, 20, 26, and 27. Price is $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 4-12.
Fun for Halloween lovers of all ages, this haunted forest comes alive on October 26 and 27 at the GTMNERR Visitor Center in Ponte Vedra Beach.
Kids can rack up treats at a variety of stations while playing games and indulging in sweets. If you dare, take a journey through the Haunted Forest.
Entry to the event is free for all ages. Haunted trail tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.
Not all St. Augustine Halloween events have to scare the daylights out of you. The annual Great American Scarecrow Festival is a full day of fun for the whole family.
This free event lets you create your own scarecrow. Just bring some old clothes and they’ll supply the hay to create the biggest collection of scarecrows in the city (and probably state).
While you’re there, you can take advantage of free live entertainment, face painting, apple bobbing, and other fun activities.
Mark your calendar for October 20, 11 am to 3 pm.
As the biggest corn maze in the area, you can expect some of the best parts of Halloween rolled into a single event. Happening on October 27, events are staggered throughout the day to give you no shortage of things to do during your visit.
To start, kids age 12 and under can embark on a corn maze scavenger hunt to find characters around the farm. The first 300 winners earn a treat bag for their efforts.
Come dressed in costume to strut your stuff in the costume parade. They’re handing out awards for cute, original, funny, handmade, and team costumes.
Also, scare seekers can try their luck on the Haunted Trail to see if ghosts really do exist. Enter if you dare.
Due to the expansive site of the corn maize, Conner’s A-Maize-ing Acres is located in Hilliard, an hour or so from the Beacon Lake community.
