When you call Beacon Lake home, there is no lack of opportunities for enrichment and learning. The area is home to a dozen museums in Jacksonville and St. Augustine. The museums are all designed to curate cultural experiences of the past and present and bring them alive for you.
Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens
The Cummer Museum boasts an impressive collection of southwestern art as well as an intimate garden which also serves as the home of one of Jacksonville’s oldest trees. Spanning nearly four thousand years of culture and civilization, the art housed here will inspire and delight you. A variety of permanent and traveling exhibits await you.
Hands-on Children’s Museum
Real learning is a hands-on experience, and that’s exactly what the Children’s Museum provides for kids. Bring your children to play, problem-solve, and create in a hands-on learning experience. Discovery has never been so much fun!
Museum of Science & History
You haven’t been to a Jacksonville museum until you’ve been to the MOSH, the Museum of Science & History. A variety of Core, Signature, and Traveling exhibits will keep you in awe of the world around you, past and present. Enjoy dynamic exhibitions and special events throughout the year.
St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum
Get your inner pirate on at the St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum. Birthday parties here for young pirates include a treasure hunt that culminates in bags of birthday loot for everyone. Older pirates are welcome to schedule corporate events at the museum as well.
Ripley’s Believe It or Not
Ripley’s Believe It or Not houses the unusual and outlandish alike. If it’s weird, it’s probably here.
Take the Red Train Tour to visit historical sights of interest in the city, or try the Ghost Train Adventure to find ancient apparitions. At Christmastime, climb aboard the train for a magical holiday excursion called Nights of Lights.
