Parks & Recreation

Perfectly located between Jacksonville and St. Augustine, Beacon Lake is quickly becoming the jewel of the northern Florida Atlantic coast. Your home community sits nestled amongst abundant recreational opportunities that begin in your own backyard.

Here at Home in Beacon Lake

It’s all here when you choose to call Beacon Lake your home. Paddle across the 43 acres of pristine lake, and enjoy the beauty of your surroundings. Swim in the outdoor Junior Olympic pool, splash around in the water park, play on your tennis courts or the various sports fields.

There’s even a Bark Park for your canine companions to enjoy. When you’re ready to explore beyond the Beacon Lake Community, take in the area parks for even more recreational opportunities.

Local Parks

The Florida State Park System includes the Big Talbot Island State Park, with its revered Boneyard Beach. The Atlantic Ocean created this remarkable area by hurling eroded trees upon the shore, and now you can enjoy the natural beauty of a scenic spot unspoiled by modern progress.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission oversees the Twelve Mile Swamp Conversation Area. It’s a get-a-way favorite for hiking, biking, horseback riding or just viewing wildlife. The Wildlife Management Area (WMA) allows seasonal hunting.

Florida Beaches

It’s not Florida without a beach. Take the gang to the South Ponte Vedra Beach Recreation Area to experience some of the best of the east coast sun and surf. You’ll have walkover steps to the sands as well as access to picnic tables and grills.

Mickler’s Landing, at the southern end of South Ponte Vedra Beach, offers restrooms and showers. Lifeguards patrol the waters during peak season.

River Access

Good things sometimes come in small packages. Take advantage of the gorgeous scenery while you sit a spell at the Riverfront Park along the San Marco River. You may even get to see manatees in the water looking back at you. Best of all, you’ll be close to some amazing restaurants.

Whether you want to stay within the comfortable and safe confines of your Beacon Lake community with resort-style amenities or explore the many recreational parks and activities nearby, there’s always something new and exciting to do nearby!
