Valentine’s Day Crafts for the Whole Family

Melted Crayon Hearts

This Valentine’s Day craft is a fun way for parents and youngsters to spend time together while recycling old crayons. Two birds, one stone, right? With this project, your old and broken crayons that might have gone unused, have an opportunity for new life! You can, of course, use new ones too.

Using about 100 crayons and heart-shaped silicone molds, place the crayons in the mold and melt them in the oven at about 250 degrees.

After they are done, remove and let cool completely before unmolding. You can use them to create homemade valentines, or hot glue them to construction paper for Valentine’s Day cards!

This project is also great for other holidays using different molds – Christmas trees for the holiday season, ghosts for Halloween, etc.

Hanging Flower Heart

Valentine’s decorations are more than just fun to create. Bring your home’s living space to life by decorating with flowers in fifty shades of pink.

Using faux flowers of your choice, create an elegant hanging heart decoration filled with a gradient of pink or red flowers. The best part? It’s way easier to create than it looks!

With a few faux flowers and other basic craft supplies, you’ll have this dreamy project created in no time.  When you’re finished, you can display your beautiful creation in the window of your Beacon Lake home for the ultimate statement piece effect. Since the craft project uses faux flowers, you can recycle your heart decoration for many years or even hang it in your child’s room all year long!
